1. Keep uniform and patch clean and neat at all times.
  2. Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed neatly.
  3. White karate uniforms with properly-placed KCA approval emblems must be worn while training in the DoJo. Any other uniform artwork is not allowed.
  4. No eating, gum chewing, smoking, or drinking in the DoJo.
  5. All martial-art training is to be practiced in the DoJo, in private, or with other martial artists.
  6. Be punctual and set a good example for other students.
  7. All students will bow at the beginning and end of all classes and belt promotions.
  8. All students are required to pay a $58 Belt Promotion fee (for Gold Belts and above). Belt promotions and examinations are determined by Mr. Wholihan. NO Belt Promotion fees for after-school programs.
  9. Safety Equipment: All students are required to wear safety equipment - NO EXCEPTIONS!

    As a student in good standing, all safety equipment must be purchased through KCA (approximate cost: $225). Alternative/select pieces of equipment may be used upon approval from Mr. Wholihan.

    Safety equipment is NOT required for after-school programs. In general, the after-school programs do not have sparring.

  10. Sparring Rules:
  11. All instructors will be addressed as Mr., Mrs., Miss, or Ms., accordingly. All answers will be “Yes Sir” or “Yes Ma’am”, accordingly.
  12. Students will comply with all rules and regulations of KCA Martial Arts, Inc. Failure to comply will result in prompt disciplinary action in accordance with the traditions of Karate.
  13. One-Step Sparring and Self-Defense Techniques: All movements will be performed with the intent of learning, not to inflict pain. There will be NO contact with any punch, kick, or other type of technique.
  14. Karate is a contact sport where injuries are possible. Therefore, participants must assume all risks. Most of all, I waive any claims of damages against KCA Martial Arts, Inc., its principals, and its instructors, in any case resulting from this activity.
  15. Schedule of classes and rules are subject to change without notice. Master instructor reserves the right to suspend, expel, or terminate any student’s enrollment at any time, with no obligation to refund tuition or any other fees.
  16. As a member of KCA, I acknowledge that I am not a member of, or affiliated with, any other Martial Arts organization.
  17. No make-up classes, no refunds.
  18. Delinquent Accounts: Tuition is standard – not prorated.
